Three PhD positions available

Optogenetic control of biomolecule function has been identified as breakthrough of the year by the Science magazine. Within this topic, the group of Günter Mayer (www.mayerlab.de) at the University of Bonn is seeking for two PhD and/or one Postdoctoral positions, funded by a highly competitive ERC Consolidator project. The topics are located at the border of chemical biology and cell biological sciences. Ideal candidates have a background in cell biology, biology or biochemistry.

Another Phd position (funded by the DFG, german Research Council) is available in the field of chemically modified nucleosides and their application to identify a novel compound class our laboratory recently developed. The ideal candidate has a good background in chemistry and will be happy to extend synthetic knowledge towards investigating biological systems.
