The Institute for Energy Conversion and Storage at the University of Ulm in Germany invites applications for the position of a
Researcher or phd student
(100 %)

Starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to 3 years with the possibility of an extension. The position offers the possibility to do a phd (fully funded).

Your responsibilities:
The main task includes research and teaching in the area of electrical energy technologies. The research focuses on the development of an emission-free, modular propulsion concept for a fuel cell powered airplane with at least 4 passengers. The system will eventually be test during flight. Starting from available technologies the reliability and suitability for long distance and high altitude flights of the entire propulsion system will be improved. The reduction in emissions, noise and cost will enable the success of the innovative flight concept.

Our requirements / Your profile:
∘ Master in electrical, aerospace or energy engineering or similar
∘ Profound knowledge of power electronics, control engineering
∘ Knowledge about fuel cells and batteries is desirable
∘ The position does not require knowledge of German but a willingness to learn is expected
