The Institute of Electrodynamics, Microwave and Circuit Engineering (Microwave Engineering Group) of Technische Universität Wien is offering a job for a research assistant, starting January 1st, 2018 for a period of three years. The job is a full time position (40 hours per week), salary bracket B 1.
The minimum gross salary is 2.731,00 € per month (14 times per year). Depending on relevant work experience of the applicant, the salary might be increased.
The position is financed by an EU EFRE project. The targets are the investigation/modelling of linear interference (e.g. shared ISM frequency band) and nonlinear interference (e.g. intermodulation). The aim is to develop a freely available toolset which supports research and industry in building systems robust to interference. The project involves close cooperation with academic and industrial partners from Austria and Czech Republic. This includes contacting interested companies, discussions about current interference problems, performing workshops for companies, etc.
The position will be preferably given to persons without completed PhD thesis.
Necessary requirements: Completed Magister, Diploma, or Master studies in Electrical Engineering or equivalent studies in Austria or abroad. Fundamental knowledge in radio frequency engineering.
Further qualifications: Experience with RF measurement equipment, MATLAB, automation of measurements by SCPI
