The THz-Electronics group of the Institute of Electrodynamics, Microwave and Circuit Engineering of the Technical University of Vienna (TU Wien) is offering a PhD-Student position. The group is focused on investigation of THz sources, detectors and systems with a special emphasis on investigation of THz sources based on resonant-tunneling diodes.
PhD-student position: 25 hours per week position is available as from January 1st, 2017 or later for a period of 4 years, B1 salary group. The minimum salary is 1685.30 € per month (x 14 per year). Additional payment up to 40 hours per week will probably be possible.
Necessary requirements: a relevant completed MS, Magister or Diploma thesis or an equivalent University study in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Physics or similar discipline.
Other qualification: deep basic knowledge in high-frequency electrical engineering or physics of electronic or optoelectronic devices; experience with semiconductor technology, E-beam lithography, THz or high-frequency measurements and electromagnetic simulations is advantageous. The position will be preferably given to a person without completed PhD thesis.
