A fully funded doctoral student position in computer vision is available at the Center for Machine Vision Research at the University of Oulu in Finland.
The topics of interest include image representations and deep learning, image-based three-dimensional modeling and/or object detection and segmentation. The specific research topic will be determined based on the strengths and preferences of the student.
An ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in computer science, signal processing, electrical engineering, physics or mathematics. Also those who are expected to finish their Master’s degree by the end of 2014 may apply. Previous research experience and publications are beneficial but not necessary. Good programming skills (e.g. Matlab or C++) and fluency in spoken and written English are required. The starting date is negotiable.
