Circuits and Systems Team at IMS Laboratory offers positions to PhD students who wish to prepare a thesis after completing their postgraduate studies (Master by course or by research). These students are enrolled in a doctoral program and assigned to IMS laboratory under a three-year contract.
Circuits and Systems Team works on Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits design (http://ims-cas.weebly.com/). Our research is mainly co-funded by industrial collaboration (STMicroelectronics, Thales, CEA …) and french research agency. Our proposed scholarships are focused on:
frequency synthesis
TRx system (0 to 6GHz) (5G, software radio)
mmW transceiver design
analog circuit reliability (RadHard)
Selected candidates will:
be enrolled in a doctoral program during 3 years,
have a research project,
have a partner (company, regional government, other organization) committed to co-fund their scholarship
A contract is drawn up between the partner and University of Bordeaux, determining how research will proceed, and including provisions for publications and industrial property. The stipend of the scholarship varies from 1600€ to 2000€ per month during 3 years, plus travel funds for attending conferences.
We are looking for a highly-motivated, dedicated candidate who meets the following requirements:
– An excellent Honors (1st class) or equivalent degree (Masters) in Electrical engineering or a closely related field,
– Very good knowledge in electronics (please specify if you have skills in Cadence, MatLab, ADS, HFSS, Momentum),
– Programming and math skills are a plus,
– Very good communicative skills in English, both in speaking and in writing.
