Position Description


Our research group at the Bioanalytic Core Facility and the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Lübeck, is looking for a PhD student.
The group is doing research on the communication between brain and periphery. The current project deals with reactive glucose metabolites. We will refine the analytic detection and explore the formation, degradation and the cellular effects of reactive glucose metabolites in the nervous system.
We are looking for a PhD student with a master (or equivalent) degree in chemistry, nutritional chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, biology, or related subjects at the earliest possible date, initially limited to three years.

What distinguishes you:
– You have a background in mass spectrometry, metabolism or neurosciences
– You are interested in the underlying technical principles of mass spectrometry, method development and data analysis
– You are ready to combine mass spectrometry with methods of cell biology and in vivo physiology
