PhD position in Biomechanics

A position as a University Assistant for 4 years, fully employed (40 hours/week); expected commencement of employment: June 1, 2020, at the Institute of Biomechanics in Graz, Austria

Acceptance conditions:
The candidate has a qualified Masters in biomedical engineering, biophysics, mechanical, electrical or civil engineering, applied mathematics, mechanics or materials science. We offer academic supervision at a high level and a comprehensive education in engineering sciences. The goal for the candidates is to write a Doctoral Thesis.

Requested Qualification:
Excellent knowledge in soft biological tissues, particularly artery mechanics; experience in the field of computational biomechanics (modeling and simulation), and the implementation of models into commercial finite elemente software; preparedness for teamwork and cooperation with the Medical University; fluent English is required. The University Assistant will be integrated into University lectures; preparedness for supervising Master-Students and project employees at the Institute of Biomechanics.

Classification:
B 1 according to the collective agreement for employees at universities; gross salary is € 2.929,- per month (14 times per year). This salary can be higher on the basis of the collectively agreed regulation due to allowance of activity-specific previous experiences and other salary components which are connected with the special features of the employment.
