Financial details of the HKPFS:

• Stipend: HK$325,200 (~US$41,700) per year for 4 years*
• HKUST RedBird PhD Award: A Recruitment Award of HK$40,000 (~US$5,130) in the first year
• Conference Travel Allowance: HK$13,600 (~US$1,740) per year for 4 years;
• University Accommodation: Guaranteed in the first 2 years of research postgraduate studies

About the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE)

The MAE Department currently has 30+ faculty members and 200+ postgraduate research students. The Department has a comprehensive research program in both basic and applied aspects of MAE. Research activities are broadly categorized into Energy, Materials, Aerospace, Solid Mechanics and Dynamics, Design and Smart Manufacturing, and Microsystems.
