PhD Assistantship in Fluid Mechanics

A Research Assistant (RA) position is available in the Porous Media and Multiphase Flow Laboratory, Mechanical Engineering Department, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

The applicant must have a MS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a strong background in Numerical Methods, Mathematics, and Computer Programming.

Funded by the National Science Foundation, this project aims at developing a mathematical framework to model droplet interactions with superhydrophobic surfaces. The start date of the project is August 2015. The position covers the student’s tuition and fees and it also includes a starting salary of $25,000/year.
