The Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Institute of Biomedical Optics (BMO) offer a joint Ph.D. for
Physicist/Engineer (biomedical or signal processing).
Aim is the development, implementation and testing of optical coherence tomography (OCT) based techniques for quantitative angiography. Together with a team of biologists quantitative microangiography will be used to investigate mechanisms leading to damage after stroke injury
We expect a Diploma or Master degree with high distinction in Physics, Informatics, Mathematics or Engineering. The ideal candidate is highly dedicated to work in a small interdisciplinary team of biologists, physicists and engineers. We expect programming skills in Matlab and Labview and experiences in image processing, microscopy and optics.
Located on the BioMedTec Science Campus Lübeck, the Uni-versity and the Graduate School for Computing in Medicine and Life Sciences offer an excellent environment for interdisciplinary research. Together with three OCT based companies Lübeck forms an internationally acknowledged center for optical coherence tomography.
