The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at the West Virginia University anticipates filling one Ph.D. and one M.S. graduate research position. The research program aims to conduct advanced research on advanced electroceramic materials for thermoelectric, electrochemical and electromechanical devices (such as energy-harvesters, fuel cells, and sensors). Candidates with strong theoretical and experimental background/experience in one or more of the following areas are sought: fuel cell or battery testing, electrical materials characterization, solid-state chemistry, and ceramic fabrication. In addition, students with knowledge or experience in fabricating ceramics through polymer precursors will be given additional consideration. The project will require the candidates to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists.
WVU is a comprehensive land grant institution with over 29,000 students. The MAE department has thirty-three faculty, offering B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering.
Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Non-US citizens must include a statement of authority to work in the U.S. Applicants should send a letter describing their qualifications, resume, and names, addresses, email addresses, and email addresses of at least two references.
