The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Wyoming has several fully funded PhD and Post-Doctoral positions open that are immediately available to highly qualified candidates from the U.S. and worldwide.
Successful applicants will have an opportunity to interact with several industry partners and develop their skills in a multi-disciplinary environment that fosters creativity, depth, and breadth. They will have access to newly established world-class facilities that allow multi-scale experimentation and modeling of multiphase displacement mechanisms in mixed-wet porous systems with applications to key technologies for energy and the environment. Some of the specific research topics currently available include CO2 sequestration and leakage, asphaltene precipitation and deposition, surfactants and nanofluids for hydraulic fracturing and enhanced hydrocarbon recovery, two- and three-phase relative permeabilities, interfacial tension and wettability, hysteresis and phase change in nano-scale rocks, dynamic and pore-scale modeling of multiphase displacement processes.
We are looking for students with outstanding academic record in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environmental engineering, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
