Increase industrial software productivity with Functional Programming
The Declarative Languages & Systems unit of the Department of Computer Science, KU Leuven is looking for a scientific collaborator in the context of project vLambda. This technology transfer project supports the Flemish software industry in the adoption of Functional Programming techniques in mainstream languages like Java and C-sharp. The project is subsidised by the Flemish agency for Innovation through Science and Technology (IWT) and proceeds in collaboration with our industrial partners.

You will join the team of prof. Tom Schrijvers. We are experts in declarative programming languages, including functional, logic and programming.

Your responsibilities are:
to develop industrial case studies
to create training material
to support training activities
to follow up the adoption of functional programming techniques by our industrial partners
Profile
We are looking for a team player with a master degree in computer science or similar. Interest in, and ideally a passion for, Functional Programming is a must. You should have a good working knowledge of Java, and at least basic knowledge of C-sharp. Good oral and writing skills as well as didactic qualities are valuable assets as well.
Offer
We offer a position for two years as a scientific collaborator. After this term an extension can be considered as well as obtaining a PhD degree.
