The University of Bari is offering six PhD Grants in Geosciences (3 years).
The PhD course covers the Research and the Education in the full spectrum of the modern Earth Sciences (Area 04 – Sub-sectors – Geo/01, /02, /03, /04, /05, /06, /07, /08, /09, /10, /11):
04/A1 – Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology, Volcanology, Geological Resources and applications;
04 /A2 – Structural Geology, Stratigraphic Geology, Sedimentology and Paleontology;
04 / A3 – Applied Geology, Physical Geography and Geomorphology;
04 / A4 – Geophysics.
The PhD course in Geosciences (Area 04 – Earth Sciences) of the Bari University has its administrative headquarter in the Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra e Geoambientali. It is based on highly-qualified educational and formative programs focused on students training in the field of experimental research in all the Earth Sciences – related subjects.
Since 1983, this PhD programme has trained several generations of students in Earth Sciences that now occupy prestigious positions in public and private research institutes in Italy and foreign countries. Today, the PhD in Geosciences of Bari promotes the formation of students in the analysis of the Environmental Dynamics (in a broad sense) providing most important professional skills.
The results of the research program are shown in the seminars every six months and detailed oral and written presentations are foreseen at the end of each year. To carry out their research activities, the PhD students can use all the scientific laboratories of the Department of Earth and Geoenvironmental Sciences that makes available the equipments with the same facilities granted to the research staff.
