The Atomic Theory Group of the Helmholtz Institute Jena has an outstanding experience in the relativistic atomic theory as well as in quantum electrodynamics of highly charged ions.
We urgently search for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and hardworking PhD candidate.
The position is funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG) for a period of three years, with a salary according to the German salary scale TVÖD E13/2.
The applicant should have a good theoretical background in quantum mechanics. Proper written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both, independently and cooperatively with others, are desirable. Computer skills in Fortran or C++.
