Dr. Jun Li in the School of Computing and Information Sciences at the Florida International University is looking for highly self-motivated Ph.D. students starting in Fall ’17 or Spring ’18. Successful candidates will be expected to work on the cutting-edge research areas in storage and analysis of big data, and will receive full financial support, including tuition coverage, living expenses, and fringe benefits. Prior research background in theory or system implementation is a plus but is not absolutely necessary. All candidates with CS, EE, or other relevant background will be considered.
FIU, located in Miami, FL, is classified as an R1 research university by the Carnegie Foundation. According to the NSF Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) Survey, computer science of FIU was ranked 39th.
