Our research group is working several subjects including the basis for volume retention in nephrotic syndrome and diabetes, on the role of connexin 43 in acute kidney injury and the signaling pathways regulating renal proximal endocytosis. We apply state of the art techniques, such as generation of transgenic mouse lines, cell culture, si-RNA knockdown etc as well as biochemical and molecular biology techniques. We are also specialized in morphologial analysis such as confocal and electron microscopy.
Requirements of the candidate are: master in natural science or medicine, knowledge of kidney anatomy and physiology, knowledge of basic lab methods such es western blotting, immunohistochemistry and cell culture handling.
PhD candidate will have the opportunity to learn various techniques, establish scientific thinking, partcipate in other group projects next to its own, participate in regularly lab and department meetings and national and internation congress meetings.
