Ghent University Global Campus, Korea has a vacancy for a position of Research Associate in Chemistry, starting from August 15, 2019. It concerns a full-time position for a renewable period of one (1) year.
Profile of the candidate:
• hold a Master Degree (MSc) in one of the following disciplines: chemistry, organic chemistry, electrochemistry, physical chemistry, environmental technologies, chemical engineering;
• have at least three (3) years of the relevant work experience (Korean visa requirement);
• a creative and inquisitive attitude is a must;
• have an excellent academic track record and an excellent command of English (a minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL iBT test), and good academic writing and presentation skills.
Job description:
• to work on experiments and laboratory sessions in inorganic/organic chemistry, environmental chemistry.
• to assist Professors in teaching undergraduate courses at the Ghent University Global Campus, Korea. Teaching load up to 15 hours per week.
• to assist in state-of-the-art scientific research projects.
• First semester: 3 months full-time teaching plus 3 months research work. Second semester: 3 months full-time teaching plus 3 months research work.
Starting date: August 15, 2019.
Department of Green Chemistry and Technology is committed to training the next generation of graduates in Environmental technologies through our program at Ghent University Global Campus (GUGC), Korea. The position is open to outstanding candidate of any nationality. It provides a fully-funded award for Research Associate wishing to carry out research in various environmental technologies and to teach undergraduate students.
At GUGC research is performed at the intersection between inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, nanoscience, physical chemistry, electrochemistry and environmental applications.
The candidate should have a master’s degree (MSc) in one of the following disciplines: chemistry, organic chemistry, electro-chemistry, physical chemistry, environmental technologies, chemical engineering.
The terms of employment at GUGC are comparable to those at the campus in Ghent, Belgium. However, free accommodation is foreseen. Apart from the teaching duties, this position allows to carry out research in a laboratory.
