Position Description


Our research group at the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Lübeck, is looking for a PhD student.

The Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology investigates the neuroendocrine communication between brain and periphery. The current project is part of the CRC/TR 296 LocoTact funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (https://www.uni-due.de/crctr296/). We are looking for a PhD student with a Master degree (or equivalent) in Neurosciences, Molecular Life Science, Medicine, Pharmacy or a related field at the earliest possible date, initially limited to three years.

This is what you can expect in this position:
– You will investigate different strategies to deliver thyroid hormones into the brain and to treat diseases in which the transport is disrupted. Therfore, you will establish and evaluate AAV-based methods to reexpress a functional thyroid hormone transporter in a cell type-specific manner in in vivo models.
– You will be enrolled in the Graduate School of the CRC/TR 296
– Your work is integrated in an international research network (stays abroad are planned)
– You will work in a very well equipped research environment
– You will work with a wide range of methods from molecular biology to in vivo methods
– With a pharmaceutical or medical degree, you have the opportunity to carry out further training in the field of pharmacology or drug information.
