Position Description


A PhD position is available in the Civil Engineering Programme, University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, under Dr Joy.T. Adu, Prof Muthukrishnavellaisamy Kumarasamy and Prof Molla Demlie.

The research topic:
“Development of GIS/RS Integrated mathematical model for the assessment of water quality variations due to Antibiotics in Natural Streams and Rivers.”

Duration: The Duration of PhD study will be three years full time.

Starting: February 2021.

Qualification requirements
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or relevant fields.
Reasonable experience in qualitative and quantitative research
Computer literacy and programming skills
Proficient analytical skills
Outstanding communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment
Exceptional attention to detail and high standards
Ability to work within a team and individually
A mature and responsible attitude towards work
The ability to take ownership of projects
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to take projects from concept to completion

Responsibilities
Quantitative and qualitative data collection, monitoring, and analysis
Coordinate project tasks and deliverables within research projects
Participate in the preparation of reports when required
Contribute to scientific paper writing on research projects
Present data findings to stakeholders when required.
