Position Description


Kaunas University of Technology is looking for highly motivated doctoral (PhD) students.

Start of studies: September 2019
Duration: 4 years.
Language: English
Scholarships: 8600 – 10000 EUR per year; additional funding available; no tuition fee

Available research topics for intake 2019:
1. Design and studies of materials for organic light emitting diodes
2. 2D nanostructures of noble metal nanoparticles for biosensor applications
3. Graphene direct synthesis and application for photoelectric devices
4. Development of electroluminescent devices for lighting applications utilizing organic and/or hybrid emitters
5. Anisotropy of crystal lattice stresses during nitriding of alloys
6. High strength and light weight ecofriendly natural cellulosic fiber reinforced composites
7. Modeling of kinetic properties of single chamber fuel cell components
8. Applications of ultra-short lasers for establishing of new methods for formation of nanostructures
9. Formation by physical vacuum techniques of thin-film catalytic structures
10. Development of 3D knitted structures and investigation of their properties
11. ZnO nanowire synthesis and integration into multifunctional coatings
12. Development of polymers with multifunctional properties using chemical and structural modifications and their evaluation
13. The formation of ceramic composite coatings by plasma spraying
14. Formation of nano- and micro-structures on metal and ceramic surfaces prepared by additive manufacturing technology and investigation of physical properties
15. Development of tissue equivalent 3D printing materials
16. Investigation and evaluation of the influence of structure and finishing on the exploitation properties of fibrous polymer materials and their systems for the active sportswear development
17. Bismuth titanate thin film synthesis and characterization
18. Multiferroic bismuth ferrite thin film synthesis and characterization
19. Designing of Woven Fabrics of New Structure and Investigation of Their Properties
20. Formation and Properties Analysis of Nanofibers and Microfibers from PVP with Iodine
21. Creation and Investigation of Lightweight Wooden Building Constructions
22. Development of medical textile materials using antibacterial fibres
23. Metal Recovery from electronic waste using bioleaching

A candidate to PhD position must hold a Master’s degree or a higher education degree equivalent to it (technological or physical sciences)
